How can you ever be sure you’ve seen a ghost?

I thought I was having the weirdest episodes for a couple of years. I would fall asleep and feel as though there was a presence hovering over me and pressing down on my body so hard that I couldn’t move at all, yet I could see and was aware of my surroundings the entire time. I also heard sounds like a small group of people whispering at my ears, which was creepy. I never mentioned this to anybody, and then one day, I am channel surfing and see a special program on Discovery Health about Sleep Paralysis. That’s what I had!—I thought, after seeing the symptoms reported by people from all over the world. Mystery solved.

It doesn’t make it any less creepy and even terrifying while it’s happening, though. I haven’t had it happen again in a few years, thankfully.

If you think you might be interested in this type of thing, there is plenty of information to go around about nightmares, and the origin of myths and legends like the incubus/succubus, etc.

Gloria, it would be interesting to check out the history of your house, or even the room. Maybe there’s some unfinished business there…

My friend in Waterloo told me that her basement was haunted. She said she could hear children’s voices sometimes when she’d be down there. Once her and her roommate took a Ouija board down and they found that it was indeed a little boy and they asked him if he was a good ghost and he said no. Needless to say, I’ve never been in her basement!

    This is some spooky stuff!

I have no real experience with ghosts. I do hear voices from time to time… The voices in my head keep telling they don’t exist, but I don’t believe them.

Oh, I forgot to ask, for those of you who like photography, have you captured any orbs? I’ve had batches of pictures with lots of them, and I had no idea of what was associated with their presence, or how controversial the origin of that phenomenon really is.

Pretty sure “orbs” are just dust really close to the lens that are reflected by the light ;) Depending on how far they are away from the lens depends how big or small that appear in the picture. It’s often a total illusion!

Not to be a party pooper, I just don’t think it’s possible to capture “energy” using a camera. ;)

Plus, I could be wrong here but isn’t light technically a wave length? I think it’s different from energy… or are wave lengths a type of energy?

Well Oren, I think we officially turned this discussion into a science lesson.

Maybe a camera COULD pick up a ghost orb, but it’s pretty unlikely and I’d be willing to steak my left leg and right arm that it’s never actually happened. I’m pretty sure those wavelengths aren’t going to carry ghost orb essence around…

Go ahead, prove me wrong! ;)
